Turkmen Scientist Appointed to the International Association of Academies of Sciences’ Scientific Council on New Materials

Mukam Ekayev, Head of the Department of Nanotechnology and Materials Science at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, took part in scientific events held as part of the Belarusian Industrial and Innovation Forum, which took place in Minsk from October 14 to 16.

The key event of the visit was the admission of the Turkmen scientist as a full member of the Scientific Council on New Materials of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS). This achievement marked a significant milestone in the scientist’s professional career and contributed to expanding cooperation between the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and international scientific organizations.

The relevant decision was made following a review of the Turkmen scientist’s candidacy during a meeting of the IAAS Scientific Council on New Materials, held on October 16 at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

During the meeting, participants extensively discussed the organization of the Council’s work and its membership. Topics included digital materials science, the experience of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Scientific Council on Materials and Nanomaterials, as well as the current state and prospects for the development of new materials in Belarus. The Council brings together specialists in polymer and composite materials, metallurgy, powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing technologies, protective coatings, and surface engineering.

As part of the visit, Mukam Ekayev held meetings with Pyotr Aleksandrovich Vityaz, an academician and Head of the Office of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, who is one of the founders of the Belarusian scientific school of powder metallurgy. He also met with Sergey Mikhailovich Aldoshin, an academician and Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a renowned specialist in chemical physics. The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in the fields of new materials, nanotechnology, and materials science, as well as opportunities for collaboration among scientific organizations in Turkmenistan, Belarus, and Russia. As a gesture of respect and friendship, books by the Esteemed Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, were presented to the distinguished scientists.

The international exhibition TechInnoProm was held as part of the Belarusian Industrial and Innovation Forum, showcasing modern technologies, innovative developments, and industrial equipment. At the exhibition, the Turkmen scientist became thoroughly acquainted with the innovations presented by participating countries in the field of industrial development and discussed opportunities and potential areas of partnership with international colleagues. Of particular interest were meetings with representatives of China’s scientific community, as well as manufacturing companies from China and Belarus. During these meetings, potential areas for joint projects and scientific and technical cooperation were identified.

Mukam Ekayev also participated in the International Symposium titled “Prospects for the Development of Additive Manufacturing Technologies in the Republic of Belarus.” Participants discussed the significance, development, and research findings related to metal powders, polymers, composite materials, nanostructured systems, and functional coatings aimed at improving the quality of manufacturing various components and industrial equipment.

The Turkmen scientist’s working visit to Minsk made an important contribution to strengthening international scientific cooperation, which plays a significant role in the modern development of science, higher education, and Turkmenistan’s industrial and technological potential.

The next steps will involve further developing contacts with Russian, Belarusian, and Chinese colleagues, identifying topics for joint research, and preparing proposals of mutual interest. Combining scientific knowledge, engineering expertise, and industrial experience will provide a solid foundation for implementing new projects that contribute to the development of materials science, nanotechnology, and high-tech sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy.
