During the meeting between the Prime–Minister of Malaysia and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations was reaffirmed, with a particular focus on the oil and gas sector. «As a result, an agreement was signed between the governments of the two countries on long-term cooperation in the development of hydrocarbon resources of Turkmenistan», – the head of the Malaysian delegation reminded.
Malaysia is participating in the OGT-2026 forum with a substantial delegation comprising over twenty companies that specialise in oil and gas services and equipment maintenance. The goal of Malaysian side is to combine advanced technologies with vast resource potential of Turkmenistan.
Akmal Nasrullah bin Mohd Nasir specifically noted that the success of the collaboration is measured not only by the volume of contracts signed, but also by the long-term value created such as support for local suppliers, the transfer of professional expertise, and the strengthening of social well-being.
