The annual international conference and exhibition «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026» (OGT-2026) is taking place in the capital of Turkmenistan. The forum traditionally serves as an authoritative platform for showcasing the achievements of the domestic fuel and energy sector, establishing direct business contacts, exchanging global expertise, and launching new investment projects.

Guvanch Agajanov, deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, delivered the keynote address at the opening of the forum. In his remarks, he emphasised that energy policy of the country established through the efforts and sound principles of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag is being successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This creates favourable conditions for the consistent integration of Turkmenistan into the global energy system.

Turkmenistan, which possesses vast natural gas reserves, is known today as a reliable partner in the supply of natural gas to global markets. «The raw material base for this consists of reserves of our country most notably the giant Galkynysh field the phased development of which guarantees uninterrupted supplies for many years to come», – the deputy prime noted.

It was emphasised that advantageous geographical location of the country makes it possible to diversify export routes, which directly contributes to the economic stability and sustainable development of the entire region. As the global energy system undergoes transformation, Turkmenistan is open to considering proposals from international partners to develop deposits and create modern infrastructure, the speaker emphasised.

«The main guidelines of energy strategy of the country remain stability, reliability, economic efficiency and environmental safety. The theme of the forum of this year is «Energy. Cooperation. Progress.» fully reflects readiness of Turkmenistan to expand mutually beneficial international partnerships and attract foreign investment for large-scale projects», – stated G. Agajanov.
