In the Parliament of Turkmenistan, it was held a meeting with the regional representative of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Central Asia Saber Azam, who is on a visit in the Turkmen capital.
The issues of further expansion of positive cooperation of Turkmenistan with the UN authoritative subdivisions taking into account key aspects of the state policy of the country in humanitarian sphere became a subject of the concerned discussion.
As it was noted, being equal participant of the system of international relations, our country clearly demonstrates its adherence to high ideals of humanism, principles of democratic development and modern jural society. Having acceded to many international agreements and normative legal acts, the Turkmen state steadily fulfills all undertaken obligations, realizes the implementation of relevant international norms and recommendations in the national legislative and legal base.
It was underlined that recent ratification of new normative legal documents by the national Parliament of Turkmenistan, including Resolution “On accession to the Convention on reduction of statelessness” is another vivid demonstration of adherence of the Turkmen state to the expansion of wide international cooperation and consolidated approach in solution of global problems of the present.
Having highly appreciated scale reformations, being realized in Turkmenistan and aimed at deepening of democratic processes in the Turkmen society, as well as constructive initiatives of the Turkmen leader, the representative of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, in turn, expressed the striving for continuation of productive partnership through Turkmenistan- UNHCR.
Regional representative of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees in the Central Asia Mr. Saber Azam was also received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
