Meeting of the representatives of authorized bodies of the Caspian coastal states for discussion of the draft agreement on conservation and rational use of biological resources of the Caspian Sea was opened in Ashgabat.
Officials and senior specialists of core ministries and departments - fishing industry, nature management and environmental protection, other structures of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan take part in the meeting organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and State Agency for Caspian Sea at the President of Turkmenistan.
It is the third meeting of experts, whose task is to work out the project Agreement on conservation and rational use of biological resources of the Caspian Sea urged to shape effective mechanism of interaction of the Caspian coastal states in this important sphere. Two previous meetings took place in Ashgabat in 2012.
In the course of the current meeting, it was held detailed and interested view exchange. Within its framework, each of the parties set forth the proposals aimed at further concordance of positions on all issues under consideration. In particular, it concerns to the order of determination of the norms of use of biological resources including the fishing quotas of sturgeon species of fishes, coordination of national programs in the field of environmental protection.
Tomorrow, the regional meeting will continue its work.
