Four more initiative groups that nominate presidential candidates were formed.
The Economists’ Union and the Turkmengaz State Concern held a joint meeting at the Institute of Oil and Gas of the Turkmengaz State Concern in Ashgabat to nominate a presidential candidate. They nominated Head of the Marygazcykarys Department of the Turkmengaz State Concern Kakageldi Byashimovich Abdyllaev as a candidate in the 2012 presidential election.
The meeting participants characterized K. Abdyllaev as a telanented, active and well-experienced manager and family man. Highly evaluating his services and contribution to developing the gas industry of the country, the meeting participants adopted the decision to nominate him as a candidate for the presidential election.
Head of the Marygazcykarys Department K. Abdyllaev thanked those present for giving him a vote of confidence and said he was fully aware of his responsibility and would spare no effort to justify it.
After the voting concluded, the relevant resolution was adopted. The Resolution was forwarded to the Central Commission for Election and Referenda.

An initiative group held the first meeting at the cultural centre in Altyn Asyr Etrap in Ahal Velayat to determine the presidential nominee for this initiative group. The meeting brought together the participants from various towns and districts of Ahal Velayat.
The main agenda items included the election of the initiative group leader and the nomination of Babadaykhan Etrap Khyakim Aydogdy Kakabaev as a candidate in the 2012 presidential election.
The meeting participants characterized A. Kakabaev as a well-experienced and talented manager who had significantly contributed to social and economic development of the region and highly evaluated his outstanding personal qualities. The meeting participants adopted the decision to nominate him as a candidate for the presidential election.
Thanking for granting the confidence, A. Kakabaev assured those present that he would apply every effort and knowledge to justify it.
