President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the construction sites of the international bus terminal being built along the Ashgabat-Dashoguz highway in the north of Ashgabat. The construction was launched in Decembers, 2012 and it is planned to put the new terminal into operation at the end of this year.
The draft designs and projects of the new bus terminal and other facilities, including a five-star hotel "Ýüpek ýol" ("Silk Road") and indoor car parking that will cover a total area of 1,280 square meters were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration on the construction site of the bus terminal.
After considering the draft designs, the President provided specific comments and recommendations on them.
The stands with the models of buses to be purchased for the terminal fleet and the Turkmen capital were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. After considering the models of buses, the President emphasized that particular attention should be paid to their technical characteristics and their compliance to the conditions in different regions of the country and gave specific instructions in this regard.
Then the President considered the progress of construction of the international terminal and its engineering and technical features. Underlining that the main task of using the innovative technologies during the construction and improvement of facilities is to ensure the security and create the most favorable conditions for people, the President of Turkmenistan gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant officials. The Turkmen leader also considered the models of new buses that replenished the fleet of the bus terminal.
Within the framework of the working trip around the Turkmen capital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also considered the large-scale construction project implemented by the Interbudmontazh Ukrainian Company - the northern-eastern section of the engineering and communication tunnel, where the sewage treatment facilities are being built.
CA Interbudmontazh CEO V. Petruk informed the President of Turkmenistan on the progress in building the tunnel in the northern part of the Turkmen capital.
A number of projects on construction of the engineering and technological facilities were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. These include the wastewater treatment units with the daily capacity of 600,000 cubic metres, rainwater collector, which will protect the city from the main flow of storm waters coming from the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, and the distribution transformer substation.
The Turkmen leader considered the progress of works at the site going down into the mine of the engineering and communication tunnel under construction at the depth of 12 metres. Riding a bike along the northern section of the tunnel, the Turkmen leader examined the necessary communication lines laid there, in particular water conduct, fiber optic cable, communication cable, power electric cables, stilling basin, hatches and other facilities. After considering the progress of works, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov once again underlined the important role of the largest engineering facility in solving the main task - to provide the city with extra amounts of water.
Emphasizing that the Turkmen capital develops rapidly and the population grows, the President of Turkmenistan requested CA Interbudmontazh CEO V. Petruk to consider the issue on construction of the metro in Ashgabat.
The head of the Ukrainian company expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the confidence and assured the President of Turkmenistan that the leading experts would study this issue.
