President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov handed over the battle flags to the new military units established with the aim to improve the structure of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan.
The solemn ceremony took place in the Oguzkhan palace complex. Addressing the ceremony participants, including the heads of the military and law enforcement agencies, officers, cadets and soldiers, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that within the years of independent our state had paid particular attention to development of the Armed Forces of the country. In compliance with the Military doctrine based on the principles of peacefulness, the necessary measures are taken to strengthen the material and technical basis of the National Army, to improve the social and living conditions of servicemen and their families.
The commanders together with the group of standard-bearers of the military units marched towards the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan to receive the battle flags.
After the commanders received the flags from Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, they knelt down and kissed the sacred banner in token of adherence to the oath of fealty, devotion to the Fatherland, the readiness to protect the native land under these banners as our heroic ancestors had done sacrificing their lives.
After the ceremony of handing over the battle flags was over, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the congratulatory address.
Addressing the ceremony participants, the President heartily congratulated the military and law enforcement servants on receiving the battle flags and wished them happiness, prosperity and every success in performing their solemn duty to the Motherland.
Military and law enforcement servants responded to the Turkmen leader’s speech with the thrice-repeated “hooray!”
Undoubtedly, this important event will become a bright page in the chronicles of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan. The meeting on occasion of the ceremony of handing over the battle flags to the new military units of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, awarding the Specialized Military School No. 1 of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan the name of the grandfather of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - Berdimuhamet Annaev as well as the ceremony of conferring the state awards and the military ranks to the group of servicemen and specialists of the law-enforcement and military agencies was held in the Officers' Centre of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan.
