The Central Commission for Election and Referenda held a regular meeting in the framework of the nomination campaign. The members of the Central Commission and the Central Office of the Central Commission, national observers and journalists participated in the meeting.
The main agenda item was the registration of presidential candidates who had been nominated by the public associations and candidates’ organisations.
The important stage of the presidential campaign – the nomination campaign has finished. Dashoguz Velayat Deputy Khyakim in charge of the agricultural sector R. Bazarov, Head of the Marygazcykarys Department of the Turkmengaz State Concern K. Abdyllaev, Head of the Nebitgazduypliabatlayis Trust of the Turkmennebit Gas Concern G. Mollanyyazov and Minister of Water Industry A. Yazmyradov were registered in accordance with current law of Turkmenistan. All candidates received the certificates.
The meeting participants briefly reviewed and evaluated the work done and considered the schedule of meetings of presidential candidates with the electorate and their appearance on television and radio.
All the candidates will have the optimal and equal opportunity to meet with the electorate, speak at pre-election meetings, conventions and assemblies and appear on television and radio in accordance with national laws and norms of international law. The election commissions and local governments in collaboration with the heads of enterprises, institutions and organisations are responsible for organizing these meetings and assemblies.
All the candidates are to hold a number of meetings with the electorate, present their election pledges and elucidate the provisions of their election programmes before the presidential election starts.
The electoral registers are currently being compiled in the electoral districts throughout the country.
It was stated during the meeting of the Central Commission that all the organisational activities had been carried out throughout the country to hold the important political campaign that would be a critical step towards the democratization of the Turkmen society.
