Head of the Nebitgazduypliabatlayis Trust of the Turkmennebit State Concern G. Mollanyyazov held a meeting with his constituencies in Ahal Velayat. Representatives of the local public organisations, enterprises and farmers associations, the elders, young citizens of the region and journalists participated in the meeting which took place in the conference hall of the cultural center in Ruhabat Etrap.
The chairman of the velayat election commission opened the meeting and gave the floor to G. Mollanyyazov’s authorized representative K. Keljaev. He informed that the National Checkers Centre of Turkmenistan and the Balkan Velayat Football Federation had nominated G. Mollanyyazov as the presidential candidate. K. Keljaev informed the meeting participants of the biography of the presidential candidate, who had been promoted from a drilling technician assistant to Head of the Nebitgazduypliabatlayis Trust and received the government awards for his significant contribution to developing the oil and gas industry. K. Keljaev characterized G. Mollanyyazov as a talented manager able to fulfil the tasks in various spheres, including the sport physical culture movement. K. Keljaev emphasized the presidential candidate’s personal characteristics.
Then the floor was given to the presidential candidate who presented the key provisions of his election programme. G. Mollanyyazov emphasized that the goals and tasks of the new historical epoch underlay his election programme. G. Mollanyyazov underlined that for twenty years of sovereign development independent neutral Turkmenistan managed to rank among economically developed states by pursuing the society-oriented national policy and establishing mutually beneficial and friendly relations with different countries of the world.
Noting that he was firmly determined to continue implementing the comprehensive social and economic programmes aimed at making effective use of the tremendous resource and economic potential of the country for the benefit of the present and future generations, the presidential candidate dwelt upon the major lines of development of the country. These included achievement of energy security, development and diversification of transport and communications infrastructure and enhancement of the capacity the export-oriented industries, promotion of the construction sector and modernization of the agro-industrial sector.
Answering the meeting participants’ questions, G. Mollanyyazov noted that the objectives of the oil and gas industry development programme were to significantly increase oil and gas production of and refining and enhance hydrocarbon exports. The presidential candidate also told about social benefits to be provided to Turkmen citizens in the spheres of education and health care and the comprehensive measures to be taken to improve the social and living conditions in rural and urban areas.
