President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania Rada Liviu Khorumba, who completes his diplomatic mission in our country.
In the course of meeting, the head of state and Romanian diplomat exchanged views on prospects of the Turkmen-Romanian partnership, having solid potential that creates the most favorable possibilities for further activization of effective ties in all their spectrums – in trade-economic sphere as well as in humanitarian-cultural sphere. Power engineering and transport-communication sector taking into account scale projects of the regional and international significance initiated by Turkmenistan in these important spheres were also ranked among priority trends of interaction. In this context, it was noted an important role of joint intergovernmental Turkmen-Romanian Commission for economic and scientific-technical cooperation as effective mechanism of expansion of mutually beneficial contacts. Bilateral consultations held on regular basis between Ministries of Foreign Affairs contribute to utmost strengthening of constructive interstate dialogue.
At that, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest underlined the importance of stimulation of fruitful humanitarian ties, expansion of traditional interaction in the field of education, science and culture, having also declared for continuation of practice of organization of joint events with a view of familiarization of people of two countries with rich historic-cultural heritage of each other.
