In the Garaşsyzlygyň 10 ýyllygy Recreation Complex, the Turkmen leader considered the place, where the monument to the first President of Turkmenistan was erected. Underlining the first President’s significant contribution to strengthening the sovereignty, and independence of Turkmenistan and recognition of the neutral status of the Turkmen state, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested to erect a monument to the first President of Turkmenistan, and introduce a tradition to lay flowers to his monument and give commemorative dinner in his native village Kypchak on the day of Saparmurat Turkmenbashi’s death .
The Turkmen leader gave a number of instructions regarding the further development of the city, modernization of the transport and communication sphere, external design of buildings, and lighting systems.
Given that new building of the Sergi Köşgi Exposition Centre would be put into operation in the south of the Turkmen capital soon, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested to hand over the building of the existing Exposition Centre to public organisations.
The General plan of construction projects in the Turkmen capital were presented to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration at the foyer of the Ruhyet Palace.
The President also considered the projects of new highways, intersections, and relevant infrastructure.
Considering the projects, the Turkmen leader provided a number of comments and recommendations.
Upon completion of the presentation, Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov addressed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on behalf of all citizens of the country, and heads of all structures. The Vice Premier asked the Turkmen leader’s permission to erect a monument to Arkadag President in one of the picturesque corners of the Turkmen capital.
Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan K. Babaev also noted that citizens of all regions of the country expressed the wish that a monument to Arkadag President be erected in the Turkmen capital. It was underlined that all citizens of our country called the Turkmen leader Arkadag President. Arkadag means a leader, a person, who prioritized the interests of people in his work.
The President noted that he respected the people’s wishes and considered them sacred, and underlined the significance of consulting with the people in this regard. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that in each case he followed people’s principles.
“My main goal is to serve to my people and the Fatherland. We always want to see the results of our work”, said the President of Turkmenistan. He also emphasized that he would apply all his efforts and energy to ensure the happy and prosperous life of people. “Listen to people, and follow their decision”, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
