The prospects for promoting interstate cooperation were the focus of a meeting with a Finnish delegation who had arrived in the Turkmen capital led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to Turkmenistan Mrs. Tuula Yrjola that took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

Exchanging views on the ways and possibilities to step up bilateral cooperation, the sides expressed the willingness to enhance further the constructive dialogue on the bi- and multi-lateral basis, particularly within the authoritative international organisations and structures.

Underlining the significance that Finland attached to expanding economic cooperation with dynamically developing Turkmenistan, Ambassador Tuula Yrjola said the large Finnish companies showed keen interest in collaborating in ongoing ambitious projects in our country, and this interest was particularly conditioned by attractiveness of the Turkmen market and favourable conditions created for foreign business.

Expressing firm belief that long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and Finland would be steadily developed, the Ambassador assured that she continue to apply every effort to strengthen cooperation between the two peoples.

During the visit to Ashgabat the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to Turkmenistan will have a meeting at the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan and visit the Main National Museum, the National Turkmen Carpet Museum and landmarks of the Turkmen capital.
