On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva received the letters of credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Turkmenistan Mr. Eduardo Martin R. Menez.
On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, the Chairperson of the National Parliament congratulated the diplomat on the beginning of the diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan and wished success in his work aimed at enhancing the ties of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Philippines.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines in Turkmenistan, in his turn, addressed the best wishes to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan on behalf of the leader of his state, and underlined that it was a big honour for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the diplomat was briefed on the main aspects of the domestic and foreign policies of Turkmenistan, as well as large-scale reforms implemented in our country on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was noted that the main goal of all progressive changes was to ensure successful social and economic development of the neutral state, and increase the Turkmen people’s wellbeing. In this regard particular attention was paid to the key aspects of the social policy that prioritized the reforms in the scientific and educational sphere, as well as healthcare industry.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Turkmenistan was also informed on the multilateral work and structure of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. It was underlined the significance of establishing direct inter-parliamentary ties that would serve an essential factor for strengthening bilateral relations.
Exchanging the views on the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of the Philippines, the parties expressed the aspiration of the both countries to establishing close contacts in the trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres. The sphere of education was specified among the protective areas of cooperation.
Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Turkmenistan Mr. Eduardo Martin R. Menez was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country. The diplomat will also take part in the International conference on the role of transport and transit corridors to ensure international cooperation and sustainable development.
