President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe Mr. Lamberto Zannier, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the High-level International Conference on the Role of Transport and Transit Corridors in Ensuring International Cooperation, Stability and Sustainable Development.
The Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged the views on the prospects of further development of the long-term partner relations between Turkmenistan and the OSCE. It was noted that this partnership built on mutual initiatives and practical steps on their implementation served as a successful example of joint efforts at the international arena. Particular attention was paid to creation of new international transport routes at the Eurasian continent.
The OSCE Secretary General underlined that the Turkmen leader’s initiatives on increasing the volumes of energy supply to Afghanistan, laying Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline would be economically beneficial to participants of the large-scale projects as well as all countries in the region.
