President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a regular videoconference meeting with the hyakims of Ashgabat and the regions. The progress of the implementation of the ambitious development programmes and the important aspects of the social and economic development in the regions and the Turkmen capital were considered during the meeting.
The heads of the regional administration reported on the progress of the wheat sowing and coating picking campaigns, measures taken to improve social infrastructure and accelerate the pace of construction of various facilities in the regions, in particular those one to be put into operation to mark Independence Day. In this regard, the Turkmen leader was informed on the progress of construction of buildings and facilities in Tyaze Zaman modern settlement in Ahal Velayat, and other objects.
Moreover, Lebap Velayat Khyakim reported on the progress of construction of the Garlyk ore-dressing and processing enterprise for production of potash fertilizers in Koytendag Etrap, Lebap Velayat. The report on the measures taken to hold a meeting of the Elders’ Council in a proper manner in Lebap Velayat was presented.
The information on the progress in implementing the construction projects in the capital city, the comprehensive measures taken to beautify Ashgabat and further modernize urban infrastructure and the preparations for the upcoming national holiday - Independence Day was presented.
Commenting on the reports, the President expressed dissatisfaction with the low pace of winter wheat sowing campaign and demanded the relevant officials to take all necessary measures to accelerate the pace of one of the most important agricultural campaigns.
The President noted that the issues related to cotton picking campaign should be kept under strict control. Emphasizing the critical role of the seasonal agricultural campaigns, the Turkmen leader demanded that the necessary measures should be taken to increase the pace of sowing winter crops and harvesting 'white gold'.
Focusing on the need to accelerate the pace of building works, the Turkmen leader emphasised the importance of the elaborate preparations for the opening ceremony of facilities which will be put into operation to mark Independence Day.
During the meeting, the President made new appointments. Other important issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
