Head of the Marygazcykarys Department of the Turkmengaz State Concern Kakageldi Abdyllaev held a meeting at the Ashgabat Cinema and Concert centre in Ashgabat.

Opening the meeting, the chairman of the town election commission gave the floor to K. Abdyllaev’s authorized representative A. Amanov. A. Amanov informed the meeting participants of the candidate’s biography and his personal and professional qualities. He noted that the presidential candidate had won the reputation of being a competent, energetic and responsible manager.

Then the president candidate addressed the meeting. Presenting the election programme, K. Abdyllaev emphasized that he viewed the development of the basic sectors of the national economy, transition to a market economy and encouragement of the private sector and entrepreneurial activity as the major approaches to enhancing the economic strength of the country. The improvement of the people’s welfare through developing social and economic infrastructure in urban and rural areas will remain the major concern of the Government. Substantial support will be provided to the spheres of science, education, health care and culture.

The presidential candidate answered the participants’ questions about the approaches to promoting international cooperation, enhancing the potential of the fuel and energy sector, applying scientific and technological advances in the agro-industrial sector.
