President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will take part in the IV Summit of the Caspian Sea Littoral States, in particular Turkmenistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will take place in Astrakhan in the Russian Federation on September 29.
The Summit agenda is expected to include the complex of important issues related to the legal status of the Caspian Sea, development of the regional cooperation, as well as the further partnership of the Caspian Sea littoral states in a number of key areas. Within the framework of the Summit, the draft agreements, including the agreement of cooperation on hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea, the protection and efficient management of water and biological resources of the Caspian Sea and the prevention and elimination of emergency situations in the Caspian Sea are expected to be signed.
