A meeting with the members of the delegation led by Director General of Foreign Relations with international organisations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Pinhas Avivi, who were on a visit to the Turkmen capital, was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
The guests were briefed on the major aspects of the policy of the Turkmen state and the ambitious national projects and programmes launched throughout the country on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. A focus of the meeting was the work of the Mejlis on the modernization of the national legislation. In this context the guests called for establishing close inter-parliamentary contacts that would promote mutual understanding and confidence between the two countries.
The delegation of the State of Israel was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The talks focused on the ways to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation on a long-term basis. It was noted that the progressive peace-building foreign policy strategy pursued by neutral Turkmenistan under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov promoted interstate relations. The meeting participants called for intensifying multifaceted partnership, including between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the State of Israel.
During the visit to Ashgabat the guest were received at the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Turkmengaz State Concern and the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan.
