The State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) and the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc) signed the Information Exchange Agreement in Baku. Such an agreement was signed between TDH and Trend News Agency of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the meetings in Baku, the heads of TDH emphasized that the establishment and promotion of partnership in the sphere of information policy and media were the priority objectives set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the view to build up international cooperation in this sphere, facilitate the integration of the national media in the global information space, ensure a comprehensive coverage of the life of our country and bilateral relations and enhance the prestige of the Turkmen state in the international arena.

The intensification of contacts between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan is particularly relevant in the context of expanding mutually beneficial and constructive cooperation between the two friendly neighbouring countries in the interests of the fraternal peoples.

The sides are to maintain regular exchange of the latest news and analytical materials about political, economic, social, cultural and humanitarian life of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan as well as photographs and video materials in accordance with the agreements.

Given an expanding field of activity of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan it should be noted that the structural reforms are taking place to meet the contemporary requirements, including the introduction of advanced technologies and the opening of the department of news at the State News Agency. TDH specialists are also engaged in designing and providing technical and information support to the national websites about the events in social, economic and cultural life of Turkmenistan. The new products include the website in the Turkmen, Russian and English languages dedicated to the 20th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan and the Year of Neutrality and Peace celebrated in 2015.

The new online resource is designed to introduce the progressive humanistic policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan aimed at maintaining peace and stability, friendship and brotherhood in the region and the world and ensuring an extensive coverage of the celebrations and events to mark the anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan to the international community.

Trend is an independent news agency founded in Azerbaijan in 1995 and a leading news provider in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region. It provides daily news in five languages: Azerbaijani, Russian, English, Farsi and Arabic, and analytical reviews and multimedia materials.

AzerTAc is the first national news agency of Azerbaijan founded in 1920.
