ASHGABAT. 194 polling stations were opened in the Turkmen capital. According to the data, 302,684 citizens are eligible to vote.
Within the approved plan of events, organizational arrangements were held at all polling stations to prepare for the presidential elections. The major part of polling stations were opened in the new buildings of schools, kindergartens, offices of institutions, organizations and departments.
Election commission members applied every effort in order to make the elections a real holiday. The valuable presents were prepared with the assistance of Magtymguly Youth Organization for young citizens of Turkmenistan, who voted for the first time. The elders were opened the election; they dropped the ballot paper into ballot boxes. Amateur art groups performed the concerts and the festive trade fairs were arranged.
AHAL VELAYAT. 343 polling stations were opened in Ahal Velayat, the electoral register included 446,331 citizens who received the invitations informing of the date and timing of the elections.
The buildings of the polling stations were decorated with the national symbols. Citizens exercised their vote in polling booths in the special premises. The election commissions fixed the places for giving out the ballot papers. Use of transparent ballot boxes guarantees the transparency of voting.
11,496 citizens of Ahal Velayat voted for the first time. The meetings with them took place in all cities and etrpas on the initiative of Magtymguly Youth Organization. Local youth was informed on the procedures and rules of the presidential elections. Souvenirs were prepared for them. International and national observers observed the election process.
Professional and amateur artists performed concerts and the festive fairs were arranged at the polling stations on the day of the election.
BALKAN VELAYAT. 251 polling stations were opened in Balkan Velayat.
248,697 voters were registered in the velayat, of them 7,966 citizens voted for the first time and 6,535 were the voters at the age of over 70. All citizens were provided with the full information at polling stations. They could read the reference and methodological materials and legal acts there.
Polling stations were supplied with necessary equipment and devices, including transparent ballot boxes, reference and methodological materials, booklets, brochures with the texts of statutory and legal acts, leaflets in Turkmen and Russian. There was the special place for observers at polling stations. Observers wrote their notes regarding the voting process and the organization of the election into the special logs.
DASHOGUZ VELAYAT. 445 polling stations were opened in Dashoguz Velayat. The voters’ list included 640,120 citizens. The election commissions informed of the date and timing of the elections in advance. In accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan on the Election of the President of Turkmenistan citizens of Turkmenistan had an opportunity to vote early. National observers observe the elections held in a free and democratic atmosphere.
LEBAP VELAYAT. 646,000 local citizens, of them 15,000 first-time voters, exercised their constitutional right at 523 polling stations. The voters received the invitations to perform their civic duty and elect the leader of Turkmenistan. The invitations contained the necessary information, including the number, address and telephone of the polling station and timing of the elections.
The portable ballot boxes were delivered to those who were unable to come to the polling station for health reasons. A meeting was arranged before the election. The elders and young voters participated in the meeting. The heavy massive turnout has been registered on the day of the lection.
MARY VELAYAT. 522 polling stations supplied with necessary equipment and communication devices, brochures, booklets for voters, materials on the voting procedures and rules were opened in the Murgab oasis. Election commission members and authorized representatives observed the election process. the festive fairs were arranged on the day of the election
