Traditions of humanism and good-neighborliness in the mirror of art
The Days of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran started in Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in our country are the organizers of this cultural action. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Seyed Mohammad Hossini, who arrived in the Turkmen capital leading the delegation of art workers of Iran, attended the ceremony of opening the Days of Culture of Iran in Turkmenistan.
As is known, within the last years the cultural and scientific dialogue between Turkmenistan and Iran has become more active, exhibitions, concerts and international conferences introducing the art, music, philosophical and literary heritage of the Turkmen and Iranian people are organized in our countries. That is vividly proved by the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Gulistan Province in Iran successfully held last year.
The Days of IRI Culture in Turkmenistan serve as a bright symbol of the both countries aspiration for deepening sincere and confidential dialogue filled with new content in the spirit of time and progressive changes.
The heads of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and its departments, workers of culture and art of the country, representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, students and teachers of higher educational institutions gathered together at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. The Turkmen leader’s address to participants and guests to the Days of Culture was presented during the ceremony. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the confidence in that this action of friendship would be another contribution into development of humanitarian contacts, promotion of national values and unique cultures and arts of the peoples of the two neighboring countries and would promote to enhancing mutual respect and trust.
Speaking during the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Seyed Mohammad Mousa Hashemi-Golpayegani underlined that holding the Days of Culture of Iran in Ashgabat would open a new page in development of relations between our countries and would familiarize the people of Turkmenistan and Iran with the cultural values of the two countries.
According to Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Seyed Mohammad Hossini, Iran expresses keen interest in organising joint cultural events with Turkmenistan, developing relations in the sphere of art and cinematography, direct cooperation between museums, libraries, artistic groups, educational and scientific institutions of the sphere of culture. The high ranking official highly appreciated the level of organization of the Days of Culture of Iran in Turkmenistan and expressed deep gratitude to the Turkmen leader for creation of wonderful conditions and support provided to the joint creative initiatives and bilateral exchanges as well as assistance in developing cultural cooperation.
Then, the ceremony of opening of the exposition of fine and applied art of Iran was held in the spacious Exhibition Hall of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. The concert performed by Iranian musicians and bahshis that added bright colors to the festive atmosphere anticipated the ceremony.
The rich collection presents various vectors of the modern Iranian painting, miniature, artistic calligraphy and embossing, ceramics, carpet weaving and jeweller's art. The special section of the exhibition showcases the diversity of national dresses decorated with wonderful embroidery and silver, famous Persian carpets and other handicraft articles.
Hundreds of beautiful works distinguished by the high level of professionalism and the freedom of painters’ creative searches reflect the key trends in development of the modern art of this country amazing with the generous diversity of styles and themes as well as vigorous interpretation of the canons of traditional genres. The ideas of humanism, succession of aesthetic traditions and innovation, synthesis of modern trends and rich artistic heritage embodied in the works vividly exemplify the spiritual richness of the cultural life of the country, its aspiration for fruitful collaboration.
Of course, this is only a small part of the rich cultural heritage of the Iranian people. But the exhibition offers an opportunity to see how these amazing works of art are created. The masters in artistic weaving, embroidery, calligraphy, carving and incrustation demonstrate their skills to visitors creating articles enrapturing with the smoothness and expressiveness of refined lines.
The colorful photo exposition showcasing the main historical and modern landmarks of Iran as well as its achievements in various spheres is exhibited in the hall. The culture, traditions and rhythm of today’s life of the country are reflected in numerous books, albums and journals presented at the exhibition.
The exhibition will be opened till March 7.
A performance of the talented artists of the two countries was held at the Watan Cinema and Concert Centre. The programme of the Days of IRI Culture in Turkmenistan includes a show of Iranian films held at the Turkmenistan Cinema and Concert Centre.
Within the framework of the Days of the Culture of Iran in Turkmenistan various meetings and master classes are arranged and the guests will visit museums and landmarks of the Turkmen capital.
