A bright example of successful development of the Turkmen-American dialogue in the humanitarian sphere is a visit of an American scientists and specialist in the history of women, Professor of the Department of History at the State University of New York at Oswego Geraldine Forbes to our country these days.

Within the framework of the visit, the American scientist will make presentation at various higher educational institutions of the country, the Women’s Union, the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan, the Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Departments of History and Foreign Languages of Magtymguly Turkmen State University.

The exhibition on The Life of Turkmen Women through Art and Photos organized jointly by the specialists of the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan and Dr. Forbes will be showcased at the Museum of Fine Arts in Ashgabat. The works dedicated to Turkmen women created by Turkmen painters and photographers are demonstrated at the exhibition.

AS is known, Turkmenistan has proved its adherence to the undertaken commitments on protection of women’s rights with real deeds providing them with wide opportunities for studying, taking part in the state and social life of the country and bringing younger generation. The American researcher will get an evidence of that during the meetings with ‘the better half’ of the Turkmen society.
