The 53d sitting of the CIS Economic Council will take place in Moscow on March 20, 2012. Turkmenistan that has chaired the CIS this year will be represented by Vice Premier A. Gochiev in charge of the national economy sector.

The urgent issues related to the intergovernmental cooperation, including the measures on implementation of the Intergovernmental Programme for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS States till 2020, the draft of the Concept for Liberalization of the Financial Services Market of the CIS States, amendments to the Agreement on Conducting Coordinated Policy in the sphere of Standardization, Metrology and Certification, review of business climate, benefits to investors, free economic zones, industrial, scientific and technological parks of the CIS states, etc. will be discussed during the meeting.

The International Economic Forum of the CIS states “CIS and new format of Eurasian integration” will be held in Moscow along with the regular sitting of the CIS Economic Council. The forum agenda will focus on cooperation in the sphere of communications and informatization, technologies and investments, integration of the economic space and innovative development.
