Transport diplomacy: strategy and development prospects

A solemn meeting dedicated to the adoption of the Program for the Development of Transport Diplomacy of the President of Turkmenistan for 2022-2025 was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the agencies "Turkmendemiryollary", "Turkmenavtoulaglary", "Turkmenhowayollary", as well as the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country and a number of other industry universities in the capital.

During the meeting, the Head of the Department of Transport and Logistics of the Agency "Turkmendemiryollary" A. Hudaiberdiev, Deputy Head of the Customs Control Department of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan K. Berdyev, Vice-Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country B. Myatliev, Vice-Rector of the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan G .Penaev, teacher of the Department of Social Sciences of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of the country O. Seyitdzhanova and others.

In the speeches, attention was focused on the results achieved in the development of the transport and logistics system at the international and regional levels. In particular, they discussed the support of the world community and international organizations, including the UN, and the successful implementation of Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at developing the industry. At the same time, the current state of affairs, upcoming events, and future plans in this area were discussed.

The participants of the meeting noted that the implementation of the goals and objectives set in the Program for the Development of Transport Diplomacy of the President of Turkmenistan for 2022-2025 will serve to further strengthen the potential of the state’s transport sector, the multifaceted development of international cooperation, and improve the legislative framework in the industry. It was also emphasized that the new Program provides for strategically important steps aimed at improving the technical industry base in the state and creating a modern infrastructure. Among the targeted steps is the strengthening of the position of Turkmenistan as a regional center of interstate transport and transit corridors.

As the speakers noted, the successful solution of the tasks outlined in the new Program will be of great importance in the implementation of the "Program for the development of foreign economic activity of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025" and the "Foreign trade strategy of Turkmenistan for 2021-2030".

At the end of the event, the participants expressed warm words of gratitude to the leader of the nation for the tireless care of the Turkmen people and country, and also emphasized the high role of the ongoing domestic and foreign policy aimed at strengthening peace, friendly interstate relations, achieving international stability and security.
