Within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Ukraine led by Viktor Mayko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to Ashgabat, the guests were received at the Government of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service as well as at the Khyakimlik of Ashgabat. The possibilities for collaboration with Ukrainian partners on the implementation of the ambitious national programmes were specified during the meeting.
The meeting participants exchanged their view on the existing situation and priorities for further fostering of the Turkmen-Ukrainian dialogues built on the long-term equal basis. Underlining that Turkmenistan and Ukraine have been bounded with long-term traditional partnership in various spheres, the sides stated with satisfaction that today this cooperation had entered into a new active phase. That is proved by the results of the state visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Kiev this March. Within the framework of the visit a number of important agreements were concluded with the aim of further fostering of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
Exchanging the views on the prospects for developing the Turkmen-Ukrainian relations, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reaffirmed the interest of his country in enhancing fruitful intergovernmental cooperation given the interests of the two countries. The fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, urban engineering spheres, agricultural industry were defined among the priority areas for bilateral cooperation.
