The meeting of the Turkmen-German working group on the trading and economic cooperation took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The delegation led by Deputy Minister, Head of the Foreign Trade Department, Ministry of Economics and Technology of the Federative Republic of Germany Dr. Karl-Ernst Brauner arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the meeting.
The meeting participants exchanged their views regarding the intensification of cooperation in the trading and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communications, scientific and educational spheres, as well as in agriculture, healthcare, tourism and nature protection.
Particular attention was paid to widening the efficient cooperation with the German business community that is widely represented at the Turkmen market by such leading companies as Siemens, RWE Dea AG, BOSCH, CLAAS, Liebherr, Leica, Hospitalia International, BASF, etc.
Among a wide spectrum of issues under discussing, the meeting participants focused on the investment potential of Turkmenistan, cooperation in the financial and banking sphere, and delivery of high-performance equipment manufactured in Germany to our country.
The guests reaffirmed the aspiration of the leading German companies for widening their cooperation at the prospective Turkmen market, and active participation in joint projects, including reconstruction of the sea port in Turkmenbashi, and construction of the International airport in Ashgabat.
Significant attention was paid to the prospects of cooperation in the sphere of fuel and energy complex. At present, in accordance with the contracts concludes with German companies, the equipment and materials for the oil and gas industry are supplied to Turkmenistan that vividly testifies to increasing potential of the joint cooperation.
Underling the interest in developing the partnership in the sphere of the most advanced technologies, the guests noted that Germany, as a generally recognized leader in this sphere, had expressed the readiness to offer the advanced scientific and technological developments. The presentation of a number of projects of the urban planning infrastructure took place within the framework of the meeting.
