A regular meeting of the Interstate Coordination Water Commission (ICWC) in Ashgabat that brought together the heads, representatives and specialists of the water industry sector of the Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan took place in Ashgabat.
The meeting participants expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of the efficient dialogue between the friendly neighbouring countries, members of the Interstate Coordination Water Commission in the search for coordinated approaches addressing such important for the whole region issue as efficient use of water resources.
In particular, the meeting participants discussed the results of the 2011-2012 vegetation period, the measures taken jointly to use flood waters of the Amu Darya and Syr Darya Rivers in the spring flood time, and the preparations for the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of cooperation in joint management of transboundary water resources scheduled for the second half of the year.
