III International Gas Congress started in Avaza
The ceremony of opening III International Gas Congress and Exhibition took place in the Avaza national tourism zone. The large-scale specialized forum that contributes to expanding mutually beneficial energy partnerships is organized by the Turkmengas State Concern and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
III International Gas Congress has brought together over 500 delegates – scientists and experts, representatives of sectoral departments from 32 countries of the world. About 150 world leading oil and gas companies from EU member states, the United States, Asia, as well as the heads of the sectoral ministries and departments, the diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, and authoritative international organiaations participate in the forum.
The Turkmen concerns, corporations and leading oil and gas companies as well as associated industries of the national economy of Turkmenistan present the diverse expositions that vividly illustrate their activities in the production, investment, commercial spheres as well as social and economic aspects.
Among foreign participants, 35 world’s leading producers from 15 countries, including the United States, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the UAE, Turkey, China, and others present their exhibits at the exposition. Some of them are long-term partners collaborating with Turkmenistan for many years as well as the newcomers seeking to establish cooperation with enterprises of the fuel and energy sector.
The Turkmengas State Concern, and the Turkmennebit State Concern as well as their long-term partners – CNPC Chinese National Corporation and affiliated companies, ITERA International Group of Companies, Turkmenbashi omplex of oil refineries, the Chevron, BAKER HUGNES INCORPORATED (USA), TMK Trading House (Russian Federation), HUNDAI ENDINEERING (the Republic of Korea), Van Oord (the Netherlands) and other present their expositions.
The representative delegations of the European Union member states, the USA, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the UAE, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, the CIS member states and other countries take part in the International Gas Congress. Turkmenistan is represented by the cabinet ministers, the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources, the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan, the sectoral state concerns and institutes, other ministries and departments.
The representatives of international organisations, the US Department of State, a number of the world’s leading oil and gas companies, Exxon-Mobil (USA), Shell (Holland-UK), OMV (Austria), Petronas Carigali (Malaysia), Total (France) and many others presented the reports at the Gas Congress in Avaza. The heads of the fuel and energy subdivisions made the presentations on the priorities of the energy strategy of the Turkmen state and presented the overview of ongoing and future projects aimed at strengthening the gas industry, enhancing its export potential and expanding the opportunities for development of the gas processing and chemical industries.
A number of reports were dedicated to the priority vectors for applying new equipment, advanced technologies and the latest achievements of the world science in the gas industry, wide using of high-performance, fully automated, mechanized technological equipment. Interesting ideas and specific proposals in the spheres of geological prospecting and prospecting seismology, inclined drilling and restoration of wells, as well as gas processing were presented and discussed during the forum.
The meeting with the representatives and specialists of the countries - participants of the project on construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline took place within the framework of the international congress. During the meeting the parties discussed and achieved the prior agreements on the issues of speeding up the implementation of this important project.
