The two-day seminar entitled “Energy diplomacy: search for mutual understanding through discussing key principles and concepts of the foreign gas trading” opened in the Turkmen capital.
The forum is organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat in close collaboration with the Office of the Coordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
Numerous representatives of the sectoral ministries and departments take part in the seminar. Specialists representing the European Union member states, the United States, Canada, including Senior Research Officer of the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies (the UK) Dr. Simon Pirani, ConocoPhillips Senior Counsel-International Mr. Harry Sullivan, Partner at SNR Denton UK LLP Mr. David Tenant (the UK), Independent Advisor Mr. Sohaib Cadar (Canada), as well as Special Adviser, OCEEA/OSCE Mr. Richard Wheeler and Acting Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat Begona Pineiro Costas were invited to the seminar as international experts.
During the first day of the seminar those present got acquainted with the key issues of the energy diplomacy, including the principles of the international pricing at the global gas markets, as well as some legal aspects of the gas export routes at the intersections of seas and lakes.
