Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the Technological Conference and Exhibition of the World Customs Organization (WCO), which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The event is organized by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Secretariat in partnership with private sector companies, including the corporate sponsor of the conference Webb Fontaine.

Under the motto "Digital Borders: Customs innovates with traditional and new partners", the event gathered about 1,300 participants from 117 countries.

Speakers highlighted the transformative impact of technology on strengthening the role of customs in global trade security, the importance of promoting sustainable practices and building sustainable supply chains.

The event included a high-level roundtable discussion titled “Opening New Technological Horizons through Collaboration and Innovation for Seamless Trade”. The participants reviewed the important role of innovations and new technologies in transforming customs operations, acquainted with specific strategies for improving efficiency, advancing risk management in real time and facilitating smooth cross-border cooperation.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Day at the conference, scheduled for November 14, 2024, it focused on the various applications of AI in Customs, discussing the regulatory aspects, prerequisites, risks and challenges associated with its implementation.
