Recently, a meeting on the topic "Ensuring Environmental Well-being in the City of Arkadag" was held at the agro-industrial complex of the city of Arkadag. The event was organized as part of the Concept of the city development for 2024–2052.
It should be noted that the "smart city" project, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, is progressing along the path of harmonious and comprehensive development. A vivid confirmation of this is the international certificates and high awards granted to the city. As emphasized during the meeting, the "smart city" concept incorporates the best traditions of national architecture alongside modern architectural and design trends. The developed comprehensive infrastructure, which meets international standards, including ecological aspects, creates optimal conditions for comfort and convenience for residents. This demonstrates in practice the implementation of the principle "State for People," which serves as the foundation of Turkmenistan's political strategy.
G. Yagshygeldiyev, head of the Department of Environmental Protection of Arkadag city, noted in his speech that Turkmenistan consistently fulfills its obligations under key UN environmental agreements and other international documents, ensuring effective environmental activities.
- The Basic Law enshrines a constitutional principle according to which land and its subsoil, water, flora and fauna, as well as other natural resources, are considered national wealth of Turkmenistan, protected by the state and subject to rational use. This also testifies to the harmonious coordination between international environmental law and constitutional provisions, - added G. Yagshygeldiyev.
S. Begmyradov, Chairman of the Agrarian Party Committee of Arkadag city, Deputy of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, stated in his report that the city has become a promising platform for pilot projects and innovations not only in economics and social spheres but also in environmental protection.
Moreover, it was noted at the meeting that Turkmenistan is successfully implementing an environmental program. Forest zones are being created throughout the country to improve the climate and preserve and increase biodiversity. The introduction of new environmentally friendly technologies, "green" economy, a digital system, ensuring access to eco-products from local production, as well as ensuring environmental safety in the country are among the main directions of state policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
