The two-day seminar on the legal aspects of the international policy in the sphere of information and communication technologies organized jointly by the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) started at the conference hall of the Oguzkent Hotel.

The forum brought together the heads and leading specialists of various ministries, departments and institutions of the country. Within the framework of the seminar the representatives of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and foreign experts presented reports on the international experience in this sphere.

The forum participants discussed the regulatory and legal issues related to the electronic methods of concluding contracts, protecting incorporeal rights in electronic networks. Particular attention during the seminar was paid to the legal issues that are of paramount importance for sustainable development of the electronic commerce and its activity in Turkmenistan, including legal infrastructure, juridical reliability and legal safety.

Within the framework of the two-day seminar, participants have considered international experience and discussed advanced developments in the sphere of information and communication technologies, as well as defined the prospects for cooperation with the UNECE in this sphere.
