A seminar on improving risk management in customs was held in Turkmenistan

From June 10 to 19, 2025, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan hosted a training seminar on improving the risk management system in customs.

As reported on the website of the country's customs department, the event was organized as part of the implementation of the "Program for the Development of Customs Authorities of Turkmenistan for 2022-2028."

The seminar was attended by international experts from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Grigore Varanita and Doreen Purishe, who have extensive experience in using the automated customs clearance system "ASYCUDA".

The experts introduced the participants to modern approaches to risk management in customs. During the seminar, examples of successful integration of digital systems into customs procedures were considered, as well as prospects for improving the effectiveness of customs control based on data analysis and risk profiling.

At the end of the course, the participants were tested, the results of which confirmed the high level of training of employees of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
