President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received CEO of Polimeks Insaat A.S. Erol Tabanca in the Oguzkhan Presidential Palace Complex in Ashgabat.
Expressing gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the top manager of the well-known Turkish company emphasized that Polimeks was very proud of cooperation with Turkmenistan and its contribution to implementing a number of ambitious projects initiated by the Turkmen leader to promote the progressive development of the country demonstrating the high pace of social and economic progress.
Noting that Polimeks has been successfully operating on the Turkmen market for many years, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that implementing the ambitious reform programmes particularly in the urban development sector, Turkmenistan was always open for fruitful collaboration.
During the meeting Erol Tabanca reported on the progress in implementing the construction projects and underlined the company’s keen interest in furthering mutually advantageous cooperation with Turkmenistan and its readiness to fully use its potential for this purpose. In this regard the Turkish businessman presented a number of new projects revised to meet the Turkmen leader’s instructions and recommendations to the President for consideration. These included the project of the memorial monument designed to memorialize Turkmen soldiers who had perished on the battlefields during the Great Patriotic War.
The Polimeks’s proposals also included the projects for the construction of the Congress Centre and a think tank and the reconstruction of a number of city highways. Several alternative designs of the new international airport in Ashgabat and a video film giving a clear idea of how the main air gateway to the Turkmen capital would look like in the near future were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. Also, the Turkish businessman presented the project of a mud canal – a hydraulic facility which would protect Ashgabat and its vicinities from mudflows to the President for consideration.
After thoroughly considering the projects, the President made some remarks and comments and suggested that Polimeks specialists would more actively use innovative ideas and technologies, latest architectural and design solutions in their developments and projects.
While considering the project of the Congress Centre in particular, the Turkmen leader underscored the need to improve the road leading to the building.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered and approved the think tank project. In particular the Turkmen leader said in modern times think tanks were an essential aspect of innovative development, the centres of latest scientific and engineering thought, the generators of ideas designed to promote the progress in the social and economic sectors, the spheres of industrial and innovative technologies, etc. In this context the Turkmen leader said this project in Turkmenistan was oriented towards primary goals of the state policy aimed at fully using the intellectual potential of the nation and brining our country to the new higher levels of development.
As for the alternative designs of the new international airport in Ashgabat, the Turkmen leader instructed to revise them. Noting that the geographical location of Turkmenistan provides all necessary prerequisites for its capital to turn into the largest transit transport hub in the region, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the new air gateway to Ashgabat should meet international standards in all respects.
The requirement to comply with quality standards is set equally to all construction projects being and to be implemented in our country, said the Turkmen leader emphasizing that all contracting companies must meet quality standards and construction schedule. The President also noted that the advanced trends in architecture and design harmoniously combined with the national art of building and décor must be reflected in interior and exterior design of new buildings and constructions.
