In his address congratulating on the holiday being observed in the Muslim world, the Turkmen leader underlined the crucial role of the centuries-old spiritual traditions and moral postulates defining them as the major criteria which determine harmonious development of the society.

“The continuity of the lofty spiritual and moral values of the Turkmen nation who reveres the Almighty and his precepts, the priority of national customs and traditions and the respect for its history underlie our humanistic political strategy,” the President said. “Giving Kurban bayramy the status of a national holiday being observed for three days in the new historical epoch is another evidence for our immutable adherence to national tradition and customs, the ideals of humanism and kindness, lofty universal principles.

As is known, the holiday of Kurban bayramy crowns the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina, the holy cities for all Muslims. 186 pilgrims from Turkmenistan have made a pilgrimage to these holy cities this year. This fact illustrates that the important work on the establishment of the humanistic traditions and spiritual and moral values of the Turkmen people is carried out at national level.

Heartily congratulating the Turkmen people on blessed Kurban bayramy, the Turkmen leader wished everyone good health, long happy life and family wellbeing.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov concluded the congratulatory address by wishing “Let sadaqahs you are giving during the Kurban bayramy celebrations be accepted by the Almighty, your thanksgiving prayers and all best wishes be heard!”
