President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Xiao Qinghua.
Thanking for the opportunity to discuss important aspects of Turkmen-Chinese relations during a personal conversation, the diplomat conveyed the warm greetings of PRC President Hu Jintao, who had underlined profound significance attached by the Government and people of China to enhancing multifaceted cooperation with dynamically developing Turkmenistan, to the leader of the Turkmen state. President Hu Jintao said his country was looking forward to a visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, with whom all outstanding achievements of modern Turkmenistan are associated with, scheduled for later this month.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the Turkmen leader emphasized that in its turn Turkmenistan intended to foster the interstate dialogue with China that it viewed as a strategic partner and promoted cooperation with for this cooperation met the interests of the two nations and stood as an essential factor for strengthening peace and stability on a global scale.

In an atmosphere of mutual understanding the Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged views on a number of key fields of bilateral collaboration underlining its tremendous potential in the trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communications and humanitarian sectors. The high level of mutual confidence and understanding and the consistency and effectiveness of the interstate dialogue laid the foundation for close partnership in the other key segments of the national economies as well that Turkmenistan and China intensively developed.
