President of Turkmenistan receives credentials from Belarusian Ambassador

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus Enver Bariev who presented his credentials to the Turkmen leader.


Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat conveyed the cordial greeting of President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksander Lukashenko who had expressed the best wishes to the leader of the friendly state and the Turkmen people. Emphasizing that he considered it a great honour to represent his country in Turkmenistan that under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had gained outstanding achievements in social, cultural and cultural development and earned the high prestige in the world arena in a short period of time, Enver Bariev stated that the Republic of Belarus was keenly interested in intensifying further full cooperation with our country.


Greeting the Ambassador and congratulating him on the appointment to the important diplomatic post, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the best wishes to the leadership and people of Belarus. Underlining the traditionally friendly, fruitful character of interstate relations which had been filled with a new content and quality in recent years, the Turkmen leader emphasised that Turkmenistan was also interested in expanding mutually advantageous Turkmen-Belarusian partnerships built on an equal and long-term basis.


During the meeting the Turkmen leader and the Belarusian diplomat exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation which had the tremendous potential to build up fruitful contacts in all fields, including the trade and economic, transport and communications, agricultural, chemical, processing and other sectors. The construction of the ore-dressing and processing enterprise producing potash fertilizers in Lebap Velayat was mentioned as one of the successful ongoing joint projects.


A focus of the conversation was the issues related to strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian sphere as a crucial component of the interstate dialogue. Reaffirming that Turkmenistan and Belarus stood ready to step up further contacts in the spheres of education, science and culture, the Turkmen and the Belarusian diplomat called for the intensification of collaboration in these spheres.


Upon concluding the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus Enver Bariev expressed belief that bilateral cooperation would be successfully developed further for the benefit of the two friendly nations. The diplomat assured that he would apply every effort to enhance Turkmen-Belarusian relations. Taking an opportunity the Ambassador cordially and heartily congratulated the leader and people of Turkmenistan on the upcoming 20th anniversary of independence.
