President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov had a telephone conversation.

Cordially greeting each other, the leaders of the two states focused with satisfaction on consistent promotion of interstate relations based on the firm foundation of friendship, good neighbourliness and equal mutually advantageous cooperation.

During the conversation President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Islam Karimov discussed key issues of Turkmen-Uzbek collaboration and reaffirmed that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan intended to intensify and enhance further productive contacts in all fields. In this context underlining the constructive character of the interstate political dialogue, the sides also noted that the two states had the profound potential and vast opportunities to promote trade and economic partnerships which should be implemented in the interests of the two brotherly nations.

The leaders of Turkmenistan and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan exchanged views on critical issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest.

Focusing on the crucial role traditional humanitarian and cultural cooperation based on centuries-old historical, cultural and spiritual affinities of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples played in fostering bilateral relationships, the leaders of the two states called for expansion of fruitful contacts in this sphere.

The leader of the Turkmen state invited the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to pay a visit to our country at any convenient time. The invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of the visit will be adjusted through diplomatic channels.

Bidding farewell, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov expressed the wishes of good health and every success to each other and peace, happiness and wellbeing to the two brotherly nations.
