President of Turkmenistan conducts video conference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the participation of the Vice Premiers, khyakims of Ashgabat and regions of the country and heads of the national ministries and department who reported on the existing situation in the sectors under their supervision.

The State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reported the conference focused on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, key issues regarding the implementation of the ongoing programmes of reforms and the preparations for the celebrations in honour of the 20th anniversary of independence.

Balkan Velayat Khyakim S. Satlykov reported cotton growers in the region had fulfilled their contractual obligations for ‘white gold’ production. The Khyakims of Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat reported on the existing situation in these regions, in particular on the progress of the construction of facilities and buildings to be completed by the Independence Day celebrations and the measures taken to complete the cotton and winter wheat sowing campaigns in a timely and proper manner and improve the social and living conditions of citizens.

Vice Premier M. Nurmammedov, who is in charge of the agricultural sector, reported on the existing situation in the sector under his supervision and informed the Turkmen leader of the progress in seasonal agricultural activities and the construction of agro-industrial facilities throughout the country.

The Turkmen leader congratulated Balkan agricultural workers who were the first to fulfil the government order and called them upon to gather remaining crops from the fields without loss. Noting that bringing the agricultural sector to a new qualitative level is a key state policy priority, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the state create conditions for effective development of the agro-industrial sector. Emphasizing that it was important to use all resources and opportunities to complete the cotton campaign in a proper manner and meet contractual obligations, the trackmen leader gave specific instructions to the heads of the velayat administrations on this and other issues related to the agricultural sector.

The Turkmen leader focused on the need for consistent and active adoption of the new efficiency-enhancing management methods along with improvement of the standards of living of citizens and development of social, housing and industrial infrastructure in rural areas.

Vice Premier N. Shagulyev reported on the work carried out in the sectors under his supervision, in particular on the progress in implementing the construction projects. Minister of Railway Transport R. Seyitgulyev reported on the measures to extend the rail network, including of international significance, and enhance cooperation with foreign countries in this sector.

Commenting on the report, the Turkmen leader underscored the growing role of the transport sector particularly in implementing Turkmenistan’s transit potential in order to promote further international trade and economic relations. In this context the President underscored the need for further modernization of the transport sector, extension of rail networks and a well thought-out and systematic approach to developing joint projects in this sphere.

Vice Premier D. Orazov and Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev informed the Turkmen leader of the complex activities carried out to develop the capital city, the preparations for the celebrations in honour of the 20th anniversary of independence and progress of construction work in Ashgabat.

Noting that the national holiday must become an unforgettable event in life of every citizen of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to keep rigorous control over the implementation of construction projects and ensure they met quality standards and construction schedule. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the relevant services should pay much attention to the observance of sanitary and epidemiologic standards and to keep the territories adjacent to numerous construction sites clean and neat. The President demanded that the relevant high-ranking officials rigorously monitor the implementation of the urban planning programme in the Turkmen capital.

Summing up the substantial conversation, the President wished the participants every success in fulfilling assigned tasks.
