President of Turkmenistan receives representatives of international official and business circles

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the representatives of the international official and business circles at the Ruhiyet Palace.

During a meeting with Yang Jing, Chairman of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People’s Republic of China and Zhou Jiping ,CEO of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), who arrived in the Turkmen capital leading a high-level delegation to attend the celebrations in honour of the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, the sides expressed the mutual willingness to enhance collaboration based on equality, respect to national interests and mutual benefit and intensify the Turkmen-Chinese dialogue.

An exchange of views on the aspects of partnership in the fuel and energy sector, which had resulted in implementing the important joint projects, including the ambitious project of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, the largest transnational pipeline on the Eurasian continent, took place during the talks.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Xiao Qinghua attended the meeting.

Underscoring the mutual willingness to promote the fruitful dialogue President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Governor of the Astrkhan Oblast Aleksander Zhilkin specified the fields to enhance further mutually advantageous partnerships which had the tremendous potential to expand and deepen. Governor A. Zhilkin noted particularly that the ongoing projects in Turkmenistan attracting attracted substantial investments to develop the social sphere and construct modern sports, cultural, telecommunications facilities such as the Turkmenistan Broadcasting Centre, which became another landmark of the Turkmen capital, were deemed to be quite interesting for the Russian business community.

A constructive exchange of views on the prospects of bilateral collaboration given the social and economic development priorities of Turkmenistan took place during a meeting between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Marten Bouygues, CEO of the Bouygues Company. The French businessmen informed the Turkmen leader of the progress in implementing the construction projects in Turkmenistan by his company and put forward the proposals for further partnership. In this context the possibilities for future collaboration with the French company in new joint projects were considered.

During the meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Ahmed Calik, Chairman of Board of Calik Holding reported that the project of construction of the Dentistry Centre and the factory producing infusion solutions developed in line with the Turkmen leader’s recommendations, had been launched and informed of the progress in implementing the other joint construction projects where Calik Holding acted as the general contractor.

During a meeting with Rudi Lamprecht, Director and President of EWC East-West-Connect GmbH&Co.KG President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said Turkmenistan was interested in fostering mutually advantageous cooperation with the world’s leading companies, including the EWC Company which had the profound expertise and innovative technologies, the use of which was an essential aspect of the ongoing reforms in our country.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Gilles Remy, Director General of the Cifal Group exchanged views on the prospects of effective cooperation based on the long-term profound experience of successful collaboration.

Exchanging views on the prospects of Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation, the Turkmen leader and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Viktor Mayko expressed belief that interstate collaboration would be intensified further to meet its tremendous potential and national interests of the two states. The ambitious project of the Atamurat-Kerkichi railway bridge and the ongoing construction of a highway bridge across the Amu Darya River were mentioned as the symbols of mutually advantageous bilateral partnership. The priority fields of cooperation included the fuel and energy, trade and economic, transport, municipal engineering and humanitarian sectors.

Exchanging views on the prospects of mutually advantageous cooperation, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Igor Makarov, CEO of the Itera International Group called for promotion of long-term collaboration in compliance with the social and economic development priorities of Turkmenistan. In this context the possibilities to promote effective business partnership were considered.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov receives the top managers of the well-known Turkish company Kotam Enterprises Ltd. President Muammer Agim and Vice President Seda Gengoru.

Taking an opportunity, Mrs. Seda Gengoru expressed profound gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for being honoured and awarded with the government award of Turkmenistan and emphasized that she was very grateful for the high appreciation of her activity, the support and assistance that the Turkmen leader provided to representatives of the international business circles. The Vice President noted that she was very proud of having the honour to be the first businesswoman to receive the anniversary medal from the leader of the Turkmen state.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council underscored the existing profound potential to intensify further partnership of Turkmenistan and the United States and exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. The trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport, communications and agricultural sectors were mentioned as its priority areas. In this context a focus of the talks was the activities of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council and its role in enhancing and expanding interstate economic contacts.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Blaise Jaeger, Senior Vice President for Thales International. Noting that Thales International stood ready to offer its profound expertise and innovative technologies in various spheres, including aerospace technologies, Mr. Blaise Jaeger presented a model of the satellite which would be constructed by this company at the request of the Turkmen state to the Turkmen leader.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Toshikazu Hayashi, President and CEO for Industrial and Infrastructure Projects for Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly evaluated the prospects of cooperation with Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. and underlined with satisfaction the constructive character of long-term bilateral cooperation which had yielded concrete results.

Characterising the Turkmen market as very promising, Phil Mulhall, ExxonMobil Vice President for Europe and the Caspian Region assured the Turkmen leader that this evaluation covered not only abundant reserves of hydrocarbon resources certified by independent experts but also the existing favourable conditions created for foreign businesses in the country, including the favourable investment climate, political stability and advantageous geographical location of Turkmenistan.

A focus of a meeting with Roger Haines, Chairman of Board of Buried Hill Energy was the implementation of existing agreements and the prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas industry. Reaffirming that his company was keenly interested in and ready for promoting mutually advantageous partnership, the top manager of Buried Hill Energy emphasized that Turkmenistan which had world’s largest hydrocarbon reserves, including in offshore fields in the Caspian Sea was becoming a top energy exporter to world markets.

During a meeting with Allan Bono, President of VINCI Construction Grands Projets the President of Turkmenistan noted that the ongoing ambitious investment projects opened up the vast opportunities for fruitful cooperation with foreign partners and invited the Vinci Company, which had implemented a number of urban development projects in our country, to use these opportunities.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan Pierre Lebovic attended the meeting.

Emphasizing that the vast opportunities to promote Turkmen-Turkish collaboration existed today, the leader of the Turkmen state and Turgut Gur, Chairman Turkish Tourism Investment Association called for intensification of effective bilateral partnerships. Emphasis was put on the Turkish investors’ willingness to expand on the Turkmen market which was attractive due to the conditions conducive to mutually advantageous business relations.
