President of Turkmenistan attends festive concert at Ruhiyet Palace

Turkmen cultural workers and artists performed a gala concert at the Ruhiyet Palace in Ashgabat to mark the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.

This holiday is of particular importance for every citizen of Turkmenistan for the aspirations and cherished dreams of the Turkmen people about a free and happy life under the peaceful and clear skies of the Motherland came true after gaining independence. Today Turkmenistan is a sovereign neutral state which enjoys the profound international prestige well-deserved reputation of being a country-peacemaker, a country open for wide cooperation for global peace, progress, happiness and wellbeing of all nations of the world.

The Temple of Spirituality, a manmade symbol of the epoch of independence and national revival welcomed the guests in all its splendour. Among them were the heads of Mejlis, cabinet ministers, khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat, representatives of the public organisations of the Galkynys National Movement, heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to Turkmenistan, ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign states, the elders, specialists of ministries and departments, higher educational institutions, scientists, workers of culture and art, foreign and Turkmen journalists, students and representatives of all five regions of the country. Among the guests of honour were the participants of the Elders’ Council meeting, delegates of the XIV Conference of the World Turkmen and numerous foreign guests who were visiting our country.

The magnificent hall of the Ruhiyet Palace where the festive spirit was reigning was decorated festively. The audience greeted President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the storm of applause. A bright symbol of the people’s profound respect for their national leader was the conferring of the title of Hero of Turkmenistan and the awarding of the Altyn Ay Medal to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the Elders’ Council meeting in Ashgabat.

The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed, and all those present in the concert hall took up this magnificent melody.

The wonderful overture to the grandiose event taking place on the main stage of the country was the patriotic song “Turkmenistan – a Blooming Garden” performed by the chorus and singers of the Turkmen National Conservatoire.

The music and theatrical composition performed by the artistic groups from all over the country aroused the feeling of the continuity of generations and lofty spiritual traditions. A logical continuation of the bright and substantive prologue of the festive concert was the performances presented by young singers and children’s dance groups.

On that day the Ruhiyet Palace opened the doors for Muses. It provided its stage to best professional artists of various genres. Following each other, professional and amateur groups, famous singers and new pop stars, renowned dance and folk groups demonstrated their masterly performance to the audience. For the artists the participation in the concert on the main stage of Turkmenistan on this important day became a sign of recognition of their talents. The concert programme including old melodies and modern songs, classical works, popular compositions, dances, vocal and choreographic, theatrical and musical compositions reflected the rich potential of the Turkmen art that had been given a powerful impetus to flourish in the epoch of new Revival.

The impressive finale of the festivities at the Ruhiyet Palace was the song “Arkadag, Revival, My Turkmenistan” performed by all concert participants which became some kind of hymn to the epoch of new Revival of the independent Turkmen state. Its inspiring melody and wonderful words addressed to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were illustrated with the films about the Turkmen leader’s versatile activity and filled the souls of all those present in the Temple of Spirituality with pride in the beloved Motherland moved forward to new heights of progress and peacefulness.
