After the Independence Day celebrations on the main square of the country were concluded, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented the government awards and conferred military ranks to the high-ranking military and law enforcement officials. The Vice Premiers and the Chairperson of the Mejlis attended the ceremony which took place at the Oguzkhan palace complex. Among the guests for the ceremony was Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey Zafer Caglayan.
The Turkish guest heartily congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan and receiving the title of Hero of Turkmenistan and informed the ceremony participants that the Turkmenistan-Turkey Business Council had presented the honorary award – the special prize for the Achievements for 20 Years of Independence to the leader of the Turkmen state. Mr. Zafer Caglayan presented this award to the President of Turkmenistan in a solemn atmosphere.
