The ceremonies of putting Kopetdag Avenue and the International Equestrian Sports Complex into operation took place with participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The total length of the supermodern highway which runs at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains is 40 km. This road has become an important element of the highway networks of the country.
There are modern bus stops supplied with necessary equipment and overpass bridges and interchanges on the road built by the Polimeks Company.
After participating in the ceremony of putting the highway into operation, the Turkmen leader drove to the International Equestrian Sports Complex in Ruhabat Etrap where numerous ceremony participants including foreign guests, who had arrived in our county to participate in the celebrations in honour of the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.

This event was announced by thousands of white balloons soaring up to the applause of those present – the International Equestrian Sports Complex open the doors for all guests of the big Turkmen festivities!
Then the President visited the circus building constructed in the territory of the International Equestrian Sports Complex. There the Galkynys equestrian sports group.
The daring dzhigits presented a fascinating show and performed the most difficult and spectacular tricks of the national equestrian games which require outstanding technique and the ability to understand and feel the horse.
Then the President visited the new building for equestrian games where the show jumping competitions were held with participation of jockeys of the Equestrian Sports Centre of the Turkmen atlary State Association.
After the competitions were concluded the President headed to the central stands of the hippodrome. There the Turkmen leader acquainted with the specifics of totalizator operationы. This device is gaining popularity with Turkmen amateurs of equestrian sport nowadays.
Then the Turkmen leader visited a thematic exhibition. The exposition included the collections from the depositories of the Chief National Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts and the works of students of the Turkmen State School and the State Fine Arts Academy dedicated to wonderful ‘miracle-horses’. Then the Turkmen leader visited the 200-seat conference hall in the International Equestrian Sports Complex where he wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.

Elite Ahalteke horses were presented to the President of Turkmenistan in token of gratitude for his tireless efforts to promote Turkmen horse breeding on behalf of workers of velayats and towns of Ashgabat, horsed breeders, specialists of military and law enforcement agencies.
The festivities began with the exercising of elite Ahalteke horses bred at the Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The ‘heavenly horses’ of unsurpassed beauty, grace and swiftness fascinated numerous spectators.
Then the horse races of the ninth racing season started. The skilful jockeys riding Ahalteke horses competed in nine rounds for the sports trophies of the season – the prizes established by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The breathtaking competitions of Ahalteke horses became some kind of hymn to beauty, swiftness and grace of the ‘heavenly horses’ – the pride of the Turkmen people.

For 20 years on independence the Turkmen state has made significant progress. The country has changed beyond recognition; the people’s welfare has improved.
The Turkmen leader noted that the Independence Day celebrations became a demonstration of outstanding achievements of our neutral Motherland and grandiose accomplishments of the Turkmen people. Today Turkmenistan enjoys the high prestige worldwide as the country effectively pursuing the policy of peace and stability, good neighbourliness and mutually advantageous cooperation. Numerous guests from different countries attended the celebrations in honour of the anniversary of sacred independence. They saw with their own eyes the achievements the Turkmen people had gained in such a short historical period within the fundamental reforms in all spheres of life.
Dozens of important facilities were put into operation and the unforgettable festivities were arranged in the capital and regions of the country to mark the great holiday. The International Equestrian Sports Complex put into operation on that day was one of those facilities, said the Turkmen leader.
