President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the cabinet ministers and khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat.
The State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reported the issues put on the agenda of the video conference included social and economic development of the country and the existing situation in the capital and regions.
During the video conference the velayat khyakims and the Vice Premiers in charge of the regions reported on such issues as the seasonal agricultural campaigns, the measures taken to improve further the social and living conditions of citizens and develop industrial infrastructure and the progress in implementing the construction projects.
Commenting on the reports, the President put emphasis on the progress of the seasonal agricultural campaigns and demanded that every effort should be applied to harvest ‘white gold’ and complete the winter wheat sowing campaign in a proper and timely manner. The President instructed to the heads of the velayat administrations to prepare the programme of cultural events to mark the upcoming holidays and keep rigorous control over the construction of social and cultural facilities in the regions.
During the conference the Presdient signed the document appointing R. Ashirov Kaakha Etrap Khyakim and wished him every success in his activities and gave specific instructions.
Chairman of Board of the Central Bank T. Japarov reported on the work carried out in the banking sphere, the outcomes of the international conference on the Promotion of the Financial System and Banking Activity in Turkmenistan, which had brought together over 50 foreign experts from 12 countries of the world.
Vice Premier M. Nurmammedov in charge of the agricultural sector reported on the existing situation in the sector and the progress of seasonal agricultural activities.
Vice Premier D. Orazov and Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev reported on the progress in implementing the large-scale urban planning programme which provided for construction of new facilities, modernization of transport and communications infrastructure and recreational development. The projects of new facilities and building were presented to the President for consideration.
Chairman of the Supreme Chamber for Inspection B. Atdaev reported on the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.
Commenting on the reports, the Turkmen leader congratulated banking specialists of Turkmenistan on the 18th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency unit – Turkmenistan manat and emphasized that experts of the authoritative international financial structures had stated that Turkmen economy had avoided the effects of the global financial and economic crisis and highly evaluated the ongoing economic reforms in the country.
Noting that the key aims of the fundamental changes taking place in the country in the new historical epoch included bringing the agricultural sector which had the profound potential to new heights, the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the importance of implementing fully this potential and all existing opportunities and resources to enhance the efficiency of the agro-industrial sector.
Focusing on the need to implement successfully the urban development programme in Ashgabat and throughout the country, the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the modern and comfortable living conditions of life must be provided to citizens. Dwelling upon the particular projects, the Turkmen leader made modifications to them.
Upon concluding the video conference, the President emphasized that the celebrations in honour of the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan had been marked with the outstanding achievements in all spheres of life of the country and said these achievements needed to be enhanced and replenished for the benefit and prosperity of the Fatherland.
