A concert by the symphony orchestra of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory was held with great success at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theatre, featuring works by People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, composer Chary Nuryyov. The concert was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.

The concert program opened with the symphony “Türkmenistan – gözel mekân”, which, through its enchanting sounds, conveyed the beauty of our country. Patriotic works by the maestro followed, each bearing his unmistakable style — a blend of gentle lyricism and a distinctly national spirit. Song works were performed by Yusup Atayev, Palvanmyrat Bakiyev, and Chinar Gultyyeva. The Conservatory Choir, conducted by choirmaster Rano Orunova, also took part in the concert.

A brilliant performance was delivered by Ashyr Ashyrov, laureate of the “Türkmeniň Altyn asyry” award, who performed the third movement of the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. The audience greeted the pianist’s virtuosity with prolonged applause.

Another surprise awaited the listeners — the performance of the Third Symphony “Maru – Şahu jahan”. The hall listened to it in one breath: anxious melodies gave way to mournful ones, depicting the tragic fate of Margiana, the pearl of the East. The symphony moved the audience to the depths of their souls, and its conclusion sparked a true ovation in the hall. Conductor Dovletmammet Okdirov was warmly congratulated on his great success by his colleagues from the conservatory, while he, in turn, expressed gratitude to the orchestra musicians for their brilliant performance of the symphony. This fusion of compositional and performing talent became a magnificent gift to the audience in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.
