President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov laid the flowers to Magtumguly Fragi Monument while on the state visit in Tashkent.

As is known, the opening of the monument on the street with the name of the greatest Turkmen poet Magtumguly was held on May 18, 2017.

The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were warmly greeted by Head of administration of Tashkent Rahmonbek Usmanov. Bronze bas-relief made by sculptor Jasvant Annazarov symbolizes cultural and spiritual community of Turkmen and Uzbek nations.

Paying tribute to great Turkmen poet and thinker, the Heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan laid flowers to the pedestal of the monument.

After, the opening ceremony of Ashgabat Park was held with the participation of Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Director of the State Unitary Enterprise Tashkent City Jahongir Artykhojayev met the Heads of the States at the central entrance on the square. Accompanied by him, the leaders of two countries proceeded to the place where the layout of the park is placed and gives general idea of the facilities and cultural and entertainment zones.

As is known, Ashgabat and Tashkent are sister cities. The Agreement between the Hyakimlik of Turkmen capital and Hokimiyat of Tashkent on sister relations was signed on May 20, 2017 during working visit of President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan.

The park is located on 10 hectares of land next to Small ring road and the street that was named after great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtumguly in 2017. Its architectural image embodies the Turkmen capital. Original fountain compositions with dynamic sculptures of ahalteke horses meets the visitors at the entrance.

Having went down by escalator to the central entrance, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyeyev cut symbolical ribbon and open Ashgabat Park.

Having expressed the gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and the residents of Tashkent for the hospitality, Turkmen leader highlighted that this beautiful park would be a symbol of brotherhood and unbreakable relations between our states and nations.

Having went under the arch decorated with national ornaments, the leaders of two countries looked around the facilities and amenities of the park.

The amphitheatre for concerts and other cultural and mass events is made in the shape of flying falcon. This image was borrowed from one of the main symbols of Ashgabat, International Airport of the capital.

The park is decorated with monumental compositions reflecting remarkable symbols of our country: the dutar and ahalteke horses, Caspian Sea and white-marble Ashgabat, architectural monuments and natural treasuries.

Landscape architecture of the complex harmonically combines recreation zones, original fountains and stylish elements of garden and parking design corresponding with functional characteristics of each facility.

The infrastructure of the park includes shopping, food and service outlets. Well-equipped children cluster with all possible attractions, playgrounds and mini race track was made there. Ferris wheel will allow to enjoy impressive panoramic view of Uzbek capital. Running and cycling tracks are made for the lovers of active recreation.

Having expressed the gratitude for interesting tour, the President of Turkmenistan expressed the confidence that new Ashgabat Park would give plenty of positive emotions and bright impressions to the residents and guests of Tashkent.

Having finished the familiarization with new place of interest of Tashkent, the Heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan planted young trees – the symbols of friendship of two countries and nations. After, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyeyev left the place of the event.
