An Ahalteke horse Akhan, bred at the Ahalteke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan, entered the Guinness Book of Records. The horse demonstrated the best result rearing the 10-metre distance and improved the previous result, recorded in 2016, twice!

Beautiful Akhan, rearing the distance in 4.19 seconds once again demonstrated the superiority of the Ahalteke horse breed, its unsurpassed merits, fostered by Turkmen jockeys and horse breeders over many centuries.

This record also vividly testifies to the effectiveness of the immense selfless work of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the revival and continuity of the remarkable national horse breeding traditions, bringing this industry to the world level.

The legendary ‘heavenly’ horses have always adorned all national festive events. The beauty and elegance of fast horses, the tricks performed by jigits riding a horse, have always admired the spectators, leaving an unforgettable impression. Turkmen horse riders demonstrate an excellent mastery of all the techniques of trick riding, remaining the most skillful, adroit and brave horsemen.

The Turkmen people’s millenia-old history is inextricably intertwined with Ahalteke horses. The ability to breed Ahalteke horses proves the perfect mastery of our people, because a true masterpiece, like Ahalteke horses, can be created only by dedicating all the efforts, talent and soul, in harmony with nature.

On occasion of the event, the exhibition performance of Ahalteke horses was arranged in the State Circus of Turkmenistan. The official representative of the Guinness Book of Records and judge Sheyda Subashi-Gemidji attended the event.

The show was magnificent, because it embodied the splendid regal point of ‘heavenly’ horses and their brilliant level of training - the result of the diligent effort of jockeys. The ‘star’ of the performance was Akhan, who became the world record holder, which was witnessed by the representative of the Guinness Book of Records.

The solemn ceremony held in the State Circus of Turkmenistan on the occasion of Akhan horse entering the Guinness Book of Records that was confirmed by the relevant certificate, proved that the succession of glorious and significant events continues in our sunny country.
