The artistic school named after Byashim Nurali turns 60 years old in October of this year. It is noteworthy that once only 30 children attended it, today 244 students learns the secrets of the art. Every year the number of those wishing to become pupils of the school increases.

At the suggestion, in 1965 of the first director Orazgeldy Amanova, the school was named after the national artist of Turkmenistan Byashima Nurali, a graduate of the Percussive School of Oriental Art, who entered the history of national culture as the first Turkmen painter. Students began actively collecting future exhibits - belongings of Byashim Nurali things and objects - for the school museum.

Now these exhibits have become rarities, telling about the incredibly versatile interests of an unordinary personality: he is playing in a movie, he works with a wife on a thematic carpet, composes a poem, but most of all he admires the collection of his national musical instruments. One of the iconic items of the collection is the painting "Makhtumkuli" by Byashim Nurali, which the author donated to the school during his lifetime.

In the «artist», there is a tradition - to begin a new academic year with a tour for first-graders on the museum of Byashima Nurali. All the guests of the creative educational institution are also introduced to the rare exposition.

Today the daughter of the first director - Guljamil Amanova, heads the children’s art school. There are 16 teachers in the pedagogical collective; eight of them are graduates of art school.

Galina Tumai and Bahar Hodzhaberdyeva, teachers in the class of painting teach children to display objects and phenomena of the surrounding world in different techniques: pencil, watercolor, gouache, sepia, monotype, ink using a wide genre palette: still-life, illustrations, urban and rural landscapes, portraits. When creating landscapes, the children discover for themselves that there are no two identical leaves on the tree, and the same colors harmonize in some combinations, and in others, they are discordant. These way children learn the secrets of color transitions and nuances of shades, and, most importantly, learn to express themselves in creativity through the prism of emotions.

The favorite subject for most children is the history of the arts. Ogulgul Nurlyeva is leading this discipline. She introduces her students to the masterpieces of the world of fine art, the stages of the formation of the national school of painting. This informative and valuable information expands the horizons of children, promotes the instillation of artistic taste, and their attachment to the cultural heritage.

In the carpet weaving class, the girls learn the secrets of creating man-made paintings, tapestries, and make fashion accessories in carpet technique. They themselves come up with plots of future products, which become an adornment of exhibitions of children's creativity.

Students of the school create clay crafts and mini-compositions. This is the merit of the teacher Nurmamed Nurmamedov.

The students of the Ashgabat Art School participate in international competitions of children's drawings for 10 years. Where the works of the Nuraliev people - India, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Serbia, Germany, Pakistan, Iran, Finland, Japan, Bulgaria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan were not exhibited - and were awarded medals, diplomas, and certificates of honor, which are carefully kept in school.

Sport is one of the favorite topics of the Nuraliyev’s students. In honor of the International rally "Amul-Khazar 2018" the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan announced a competition among children's art schools and art schools. Nuraliev created more than 50 paintings and graphic works, works of decorative and applied art. The best of them are presented at the contest. In their works, the children reflected the many-sided beauty of Karakum landscapes, demonstrated knowledge of all types of racing cars. Now the best children's drawings are exhibited in the Museum of Fine Arts. The names of the winners will be named later, but the Nuraliyev’s students have all chance of winning.

Every year, graduates of the gymnastics violate the threshold of adulthood. Some children continue their artistic education; others choose professions that are not related to art. An aesthetic education and creative education will undoubtedly help to reveal the personal potential and form a creative approach to any field of activity chosen by them.
