As is known on September 24, the Head of the State received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Alexander Blokhin who handed over to Turkmen leader the Medal of Honour, which was awarded to Berdimuhamed Annayev by the Decree of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Having expressed the gratitude on behalf of Turkmen people and personally to President of the Russia Federation V. Putin, Turkmen leader noted that high state award conferred to Berdimuhamedov Annayev symbolizes the respect of our compatriots, brave warriors, who fought in the battles of the Second World War.
Handing over the award to the Ministry of Defence, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the Medal of Honour would inspire young soldiers for great success.
Early in the morning, heads and personnel of military and law enforcemtn agencies, lecturers and cadets of military academies, students of specialized schools, military attaches of diplomatic missions accredited in our country, mass media representatives gathered in the hall of the Central Officer Club.
After, the master of the ceremony addressed the participants with greeting speech. He mentioned in his speech that big work for protection and further strengthening of the sovereignty is carried out under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The country steadily implements integrated programme for provision of defensive capacity of the country, modernization of equipment and facilities base of military and law enforcement agencies, training qualified personnel.
History of Turkmen nation knows many examples of courage and brave of glorious sons of the Motherland. Berdimuhamedov Annayev, the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan, is one of them. Teacher and warrior, patriot of home land, he fought selflessly in the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Today, his life serves as an example of patriotism and faith to the duty for young generation of Turkmenistan citizens, - it was mentioned in the greeting speech.
National anthem of Turkmenistan was played and the Medal of Honour, documents from military archives of Russia regarding the service of Berdimuhamed Annayev as well as the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on military award were solemnly brought out to the stage.
The native of ancient Yzgant village, of Gyoktepe etrap, village teacher Berdimuhamed Annayev devoted himself to noble education of young generation. Being the first to go to the front, he came back from war with heavy wound but continued his noble mission to teach and educate young generation, having left good memory among his compatriots. The work of the teacher was not only profession for B. Annayev but also his duty and mission. Promoter of literature and folklore heritage of the nation, supporter of its centuries old culture, he was bearing it to the nation as educator, the participants of the event highlighted.
Military attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan informed that according to the order of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation relevant information about the combat service of Berdimuhamed Annayev has been collected.
The event in the Central Officer Club was continued by the concert with the participation of military art bands.
Having received the medal of the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan as well as the documents of his service in solemn atmosphere, young cadets and the participants of the event went to specialized military school no. 1 named after Berdimuhamed Annayev. The soldiers lined up along the way of the procession forming live corridor.
The students of the school received the relicts in the hall in front of the monument of Berdimuhamed Annayev and organized the post of the guard of honour. The participants of the event paid tribute to light memory of the grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
